Ferrari Roma Spider

You may already be familiar with Ferrari's exceptional engineering and design, then you will be pleased to know that the new Ferrari Roma Spider has been unveiled. This convertible is the latest addition to the Ferrari lineup, and it's the first Ferrari convertible with a fabric roof since the F430 Spider in 2010 and it is the first front-engined soft-top spider since the 365 GTS4 of 1969.

The Roma Spider is equipped with a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 612hp and can go from 0-60mph in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 198mph. This is a car that is built for speed and agility, with chassis and bodywork tweaks that make it handle just as well as the Roma coupe. In fact, Ferrari has made several changes to the rear end to add stiffness and make the convertible just as aerodynamic as its hard-top counterpart.

Inside, the Roma Spider is just as luxurious and comfortable as the Roma coupe, with a five-layer fabric roof that can be raised or lowered in 13.5 seconds at speeds up to 37mph. This means that you can enjoy the fresh air and open sky without sacrificing any of the comfort and insulation that you would expect from a Ferrari. If you are a Ferrari owner, you know that every detail counts, and the Roma Spider is no exception. It has an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and you can customize the interior to your liking with a nearly endless array of options.

While UK pricing for the Roma Spider hasn't been announced yet, it's expected to be over £175,000. It's a statement of style, taste, and success that will only increase in value over time. If you're looking to add another exceptional Ferrari to your collection, the Roma Spider is definitely worth considering.

Ferrari F1-2000

Whilst we are talking about Ferraris, I came across this one on Sotheby's and as a fan of anything F1 I thought it was worth a share, whilst it is not the prettiest era of F1 it is the first Ferrari Schumacher drove and has historical value for that reason only.

Ferrari and Michael Schumacher won five consecutive F1 World Drivers’ Championships from 2000 to 2004, thanks to Schumacher's incredible talent and the Ferrari F1-2000 car's engineering genius. The F1-2000 reset the bar for performance and aerodynamics with its advanced package of aerodynamics and a redesigned 90-degree V-10 engine. Schumacher's victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix, his first race of the season, set the tone for the F1-2000's successful campaign.

Chassis 198, the car offered here, played a pivotal role in Schumacher's championship-winning 2000 season, after being called up as the spare car for the Brazilian Grand Prix, replacing Schumacher's damaged car. Chassis 198 delivered Schumacher a stunning pole position in the Spanish Grand Prix, and the F1-2000 also scored pole position at Monaco before retiring with a broken pushrod. The car was completely rebuilt and is one of the very first Ferrari Formula 1 cars of the modern era to be privately owned, driven frequently on tracks around Europe. This car is a tangible link to one of the greatest drivers of the modern era and a piece of history instrumental in the revival of Scuderia Ferrari’s fortunes.

    • Campaigned by Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher in his first Ferrari World Championship-winning season and Ferrari’s 2000 Formula One Drivers’ World Championship

    • Driven to victory by Michael Schumacher at the Brazilian Grand Prix

    • Driven by Michael Schumacher to pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix, the only pole position achieved by Schumacher at Monaco during his Championship years at Ferrari

    • Driven to a pole position and 5th overall at the Spanish Grand Prix

    Feadship 37m Bahamas Cruiser

At the recent Palm Beach International Boat Show, Feadship revealed a new concept for an eco-friendly aluminium coastal cruiser.

Dutch yacht builder Feadship has unveiled renderings of their new motor yacht concept, the Bahamas Cruiser. Designed as a compact superyacht for short breaks and coastal cruising, the 36.5-metre aluminium yacht features clean exterior lines, a smart layout, and eco-friendly technology. The concept was developed in collaboration with De Voogt Naval Architects and FM Architettura, responsible for other notable Feadship builds such as superyacht Zen and Somnium.

The yacht’s main deck features large windows and 2.4-metre high ceilings, providing an abundance of natural light throughout. The interior is decorated with a neutral and soothing colour palette and includes four spacious guest suites on the lower deck, two of which can be combined to create a VIP suite with an adjoining private lounge. The master stateroom has a large ensuite bathroom and a seating area, providing an oasis for the yacht’s owner.

The Bahamas Cruiser is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring eco-focused technology such as a diesel-electric system that uses bio-fuel (HVO) to reduce emissions. The yacht can reach a top speed of 16.5-17 knots, thanks to generators coupled to electric azimuthing thrusters. With a focus on appealing to both new and experienced owners, the Bahamas Cruiser offers a closer connection to the sea with a main deck aft open-air terrace.

    Feadship - Flag

As the spring sunshine is finally started to make us all think about the summer, this walk-through caught my eye, of the dreamy Feadship Yacht, Flag owned by Tommy Hilfiger.

Flag, a sophisticated and fun 62m vessel with classic design and nautical touches. This yacht features a flexible layout with seven cabins, including a full-beam master cabin on the main deck with separate his and hers en suite bathrooms and a private study.

There are also six other guest cabins located on the lower deck, all designed with ample space and en suite bathroom facilities. In total, the yacht can accommodate up to 18 guests. The interior is elegant, bright, and welcoming with large picture windows in the main and bridge deck lounges allowing plenty of sunlight.

The yacht also features ample social areas, a spacious sun deck with a large pool, a well-equipped gym, and various water toys and inflatables for guests to enjoy. The multi-skilled crew of 17, including a world-class chef, ensures that all needs are catered for.

Rosebank 12 Year Old - Flora & Fauna

This whisky is a highly sought-after whisky due to the distillery's closure following the whisky market crash. The distillery produced some of the most wonderful lowland whiskies. Triple distilled and aged for 12 years, this is one of the more famous of the "Flora & Fauna" series.

Rosebank 12 Year Old - Flora & Fauna is a classic Lowland whisky with a light, delicate and refined character. On the nose, it offers gentle notes of apple blossom, freshly cut grass and lemon peel, followed by subtle hints of vanilla and oak.

The palate is smooth and creamy, with flavours of barley sugar, lemon zest, and a touch of honey. The texture is silky and soft, with a light body and a pleasant hint of spice towards the end.

The finish is clean and refreshing, leaving a subtle sweetness on the tongue with a gentle oak dryness. It’s a delicate and elegant whisky that showcases the unique character of the Rosebank distillery and the Lowland region. Perfect for those who prefer a lighter, more nuanced style of whisky.

    Zero SR-X

This week we featured the Feadship concept and now another concept, but when design is this good it is hard not to share.

The California-based electric motorcycle maker, Zero Motors, is renowned for producing cutting-edge models that run on electrons rather than gasoline. However, the company has recently begun experimenting with the aesthetics of its bikes in an attempt to differentiate itself even further from the competition.

A few years ago, Zero partnered with Huge Design to create the SM Custom, an electric bike that was both sleek and slim, with a distinct urban focus. The bike was such a hit that Zero decided to put it into production as the Zero FXE.

Now, Zero and Huge Design have teamed up again, this time to create the SR-X concept bike. Based on Zero's halo street bike, the SR/S, the SR-X is a radical departure from its predecessor, with futuristic bodywork that would look right at home in a science fiction movie set in the year 2050.

The SR-X is built on the same platform as the SR/S, retaining its stock suspension, brakes, and 110 horsepower electric drivetrain with a massive 140 pound-feet of torque. However, the bodywork has been stripped down to create a more futuristic, race-inspired design.

Azerbaijan Grand Prix - New Sprint Format

The upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku is set to feature a new sprint format, following unanimous agreement among the Formula One teams to make a change. While awaiting official ratification of this change, F1 will be doing away with Saturday's practice session, which usually precedes the sprint race.

Instead, a standalone qualifying session will be introduced specifically for the sprint event. As a result, Friday's qualifying session will now determine the grid for Sunday's grand prix, while the outcome of the sprint will not have any bearing on the driver's starting position in the main race.
